For parents and guardians

You are about to fund a three-year decision your child made in a fortnight.

You asked what they want to study and got an honest answer, which was that they do not know. The school's guidance counsellor has two hundred other learners. Every opinion you offer arrives as pressure, so you have mostly stopped offering them, and the closing date has not moved.

You can pay for the degree. You cannot pick it for them and make it hold. What you can do is give them something structured enough to reason with, so the decision belongs to them and stops being an argument in your house.

What we do

We map who your child is, then score the options they are considering against it.

QuantumThrive Hub builds your child a Career Identity Artefact. It looks at your child through three or four lenses, where a lens is one way of looking at a person, and brings what the lenses show into one portrait. It also holds an honest score of how well each option your child is considering fits that portrait. You and your child both see the portrait and the scores. What to do with them stays your child’s decision.

How it works

How the method works

Your child’s Career Identity Artefact draws on up to four separate lenses on who they are, each one done independently, then synthesised into a single portrait. The focused build carries three; the comprehensive build carries all four.

Eigenprint Type is our own assessment of how your child takes in information, decides, organises and holds up under pressure. Your child can stop with their Eigenprint Type. On its own, a type describes how your child thinks and makes choices, but it will not tell them what to do about those choices. QuantumThrive Hub reads it alongside further lenses, then weighs them together rather than reporting separate results.

The artefact then scores each option your child is considering against that portrait on five measures, so your child has a number for each option as well as a description. The full method, including what each lens is, where it comes from and what it does not claim, is set out on the method page.

Two builds

Two builds

A build is the personal artefact made for your child. Robert Russell, who founded QuantumThrive Hub, makes each one by hand, for one person at a time.

The focused build answers one question, which direction your child should go in. Your child’s Eigenprint is their identity signature, made of several lenses. The focused build uses three of them:

  • Their Eigenprint Type is our own assessment of how they take in information and make decisions.
  • Eigenprint Path is a number worked out from their birth date.
  • Eigenprint Sky is also worked out from their birth date. It places them at one of twelve points in a cycle.

Then the focused build scores the three directions that suit your child best, and any options they are already weighing up, on the same five measures.

The comprehensive build answers three questions: which direction your child should go in, what is stopping them, and which year is right to start going that way. It adds a lens based on their name, and a check on which years suit that start.

The readout

Alignment score

An example reading. Your score is unique to you.

The Quiet Original, Momentum Cluster. Chose a degree because the forms were due before the answer was ready.

Cognitive fit, 25% of the total
4 out of 10
Preference match, 25% of the total
5 out of 10
Environment fit, 25% of the total
3 out of 10
Development runway, 15% of the total
7 out of 10
Impact potential, 10% of the total
5 out of 10
Alignment
4.55 out of 10

What the number says: it scores the degree, not the person. A 4.55 means the choice was a guess, and the reading shows why.

Who you will work with

Who builds it

Robert Russell builds every artefact himself. He is a certified Ikigai, life and career coach, and he came to coaching from the work this site is about: entrepreneurship, business development and corporate delivery, with ITIL and Six Sigma along the way. He has run businesses of his own and he has held a role inside a corporate. Many people reading this are in one of those two places now.

The method shows its working. Each lens is named with where it comes from and what it cannot tell you, every score is worked out fresh for you with the reasoning on the page, and where the evidence disagrees with what you told him, the artefact says so. You are trusting a practitioner you can look up and a method you can read, and the method page sets out what it does not claim.

Doubts you may have

What you might be thinking

“How is this different from the test my child did at school?”

A school career test measures what your child is good at now and matches it to a list of jobs. It often names three careers without saying why.

The artefact works the other way round. It builds a picture of how your child thinks, decides and recovers from setbacks. It then explains where each part of that picture comes from, and shows your child the reasoning rather than only the conclusion. Your child can then weigh up an option nobody has thought to suggest.

“I do not want to push my child into anything”

Good. Neither does Robert, and he builds the artefact so that it cannot push your child either.

The artefact describes how your child thinks, decides and recovers from setbacks, and where each part of that description comes from. Then it gives your child the reasoning to test an option against, without telling them which career to pick. Your child reads it and draws their own conclusion.

The artefact takes the argument out of the house, because the conversation stops being your opinion against theirs.

“Another cost on top of application fees and registration”

A fair objection in the season it lands in.

The first step costs nothing. You create the account and your child answers a short assessment. Their Eigenprint Type comes back straight away, so you both see whether it speaks to them before a rand is spent.

The paid step is the build, an artefact written by hand for your child. Compare its cost with the cost of getting the choice wrong. The expensive mistake is a full year of fees, and often residence, paid towards a degree your child then walks away from. The build is paid once, before the choice is made.

If the build is out of reach this year, a single session with Robert is a smaller step to start with. Your child leaves with a direction to explore.

Start with the free Eigenprint Type Assessment

The Eigenprint Type Assessment is free, and your child can finish it in one sitting. You create the account, and your child answers short questions about what they did in real situations, such as how they replied to messages over the last month. As soon as your child finishes, you can both see their Eigenprint Type: a first read of how they take in information, decide, organise and hold up under pressure.

Robert Russell, a career and identity coach at QuantumThrive Hub, then reads your child's answers. He writes a customised assessment that goes further than their Type, and it arrives in your account within two business days. The customised assessment is free too.

The free assessment lets you both see whether a build is for your child before you pay anything. A build is the paid artefact Robert writes for your child by hand. The focused build adds two lenses from their birth date. The comprehensive build also adds a lens on their name and the right year for their next step after school. After the free result, you can book a coaching session for your child with Robert, and the build is chosen in that session.

Questions you may have

I am buying this for my child. Who fills in the form?

Your child does, and you set the account up.

If your child is under eighteen, the law requires the account, the consent and the payment to be yours rather than theirs. You create the account and agree to what is collected, and your child answers the questions themselves, starting with the free Eigenprint Type. Each paid step, the session and then the build, asks for your consent again before you pay, because each one collects more than the last. The answers have to be theirs for the artefact to be worth anything.

Sit with them while they do it if that suits your family. The questions are about how they work, what they are good at and what they want.

The finished artefact comes back to your account, and you share it with them.

If your child is reading this, there is a page written for them.

How old does my child need to be?

The artefact is built for someone at or near the end of school, from sixteen onwards. The intake asks your child about their studies and their school environment, so the artefact is specific to what they have experience of.

If your child is under eighteen, the law requires you to buy the artefact for them. You say so when you create the account. From eighteen, your child can register and pay for themselves.

Do I get to read my child’s artefact?

Yes, if your child is under eighteen. The artefact is delivered to your account, because the account and the consent are yours. You share it with your child from there.

Your child answers the intake questions themselves, so the artefact is written to them rather than about them. Nothing in it is written about your child behind their back, so you can read it together.

If your child is already eighteen, they open their own account and give their own consent. The artefact goes to their account, and you can read it if they choose to share it.

Who it is not for

Who this is not for

Anyone who wants help finding their child a job. QuantumThrive Hub does not place people in jobs, write CVs or coach for interviews.

Anyone whose child needs a psychologist or another registered professional. This is coaching. If your child’s situation needs that kind of help, Robert tells you so and refers you where that helps.

Anyone who wants the artefact to tell their child what to do. The artefact gives your child a portrait, a score for each option and the reasoning behind it. The decision stays with your child.
